Possible Improvement in the 2019 Mazda 3Blog Jul 20th , 2018
For months, stories have been swirling and rumours popping up about the Mazda3. The latest redesign was in 2016, and that was just a mild facelift on the 2013 styling. The Mazda3 could certainly be due for a complete re-working even though it’s one of the best-selling cars in its segment. But the question of the day is this: is a new 2018 Mazda3 actually in the works?
If Mazda’s current direction is any indication, then there’s a very good chance an all-new Mazda3 2019 could be coming, and soon. If (or when) it does, you’ll find the all-new 2019 Mazda3 at your local southern Ontario Mazda dealer, Moffatt’s Mazda in Barrie, ON.
What Would a New 2019 Mazda3 Look Like?
Mazda’s futuristic halo car, the RX Vision, gives some clues as to what the next generation of Mazda3 could look like. North America’s design director for Mazda, Julien Montousse has recently unveiled as much.
That means you could see the same downturned hood, low-slung grille, and signature LED lighting and headlights that adorn the RX Vision’s front end. It may be high wheel arches and silky-smooth body lines that you’ll find on the 2019 Mazda3. And like previous models, a hatchback and sedan variant will likely be available. Don’t count out the possibility of a 2019 Mazda3 fastback, much like the current one you’d find in European markets.
Have you seen the Mazda KAI concept? It might look familiar. Look to the KAI for inspiration for the 2019 Mazda3.
What About Under the Hood?
Fittingly, the next-generation 2019 Mazda3 would most likely be fitted with a next-generation engine, Mazda’s SKYACTIV-X gasoline engine. Wondering what it’s all about? It’s a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s completely different than SKYACTIV-G technology. With 14.0 to 1 compression, it’s expected to produce 188 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque.
Not only is the SKYACTIV-X engine more powerful, but it burns cleaner and more efficiently.
The Best Tech to Date
It’s all speculation so far, but you can rest assured the 2019 Mazda3 will have the most driver-assistive technologies and in-vehicle options to date. Take a look at other models for inspiration: an incredible colour Active Driving Display, exquisite MAZDA CONNECT infotainment, and innovative i-ACTIVSENSE safety tech.
It’s great to think about what’s to come for the next-generation Mazda3. In the meantime, the 2018 Mazda3 is one of the best in its class. Whether you’re looking for a fun-to-drive five-door hatchback or a family-friendly sedan, the Mazda3 is a great option.
