The 2018 Mazda3 is widely known as the most-engaging, best-handling vehicle in the compact car segment. While it has been thoroughly designed to give you all the practical benefits of a sedan in this car class, it also has a very special feel. You will be much more than transported in the Mazda3, you will be transformed by the awesome driving experience and the way it makes you feel.

The 2018 Mazda3 Sedan is a car that gives you many choices: there are three trim levels, and manual or automatic transmissions to choose from. And for 2018, the Mazda3 becomes an even better value.

What’s New In The 2018 Mazda3

The 2018 Mazda3 comes in three different trim levels: GX, GS, and GT. Pricing starts at $15,900 for Mazda3 GX with six-speed manual transmission and tops out at $28,250 for Mazda3 GT with six-speed automatic, plus the Premium and Technology Packages.

Mazda3 GX

The entry-level Mazda3 GX Sedan with Convenience Package now comes with Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) with automatic emergency braking. This driver assistance system is designed to help the driver avoid rear-end collisions with the vehicle in front. This type of collision is the most common, and the majority of these happen at speeds less than 33 kilometers per hour.

When driving at these low speeds, SCBS uses a laser sensor mounted on the windshield to sense the distance from the car in front. If the system senses that an impact may be about to happen, it first prepares to deliver maximum braking power when the driver applies the brakes. If the driver does not react, the SCBS system will then apply the brakes and reduce engine power in an attempt to avoid or minimize the impact. It’s like having someone in the passenger seat watching out for you!

Mazda3 GS

The Mazda3 GS is now available with the i-ACTIVESENSE Package, Mazda’s suite of advanced driver assistance features. It includes:

  • Lane-keep Assist System
  • Lane Departure Warning System
  • Smart Brake Support
  • Forward Obstruction Warning
  • Distance Recognition Support System
  • LED headlights with auto levelling
  • LED rear tail lights
  • High Beam Control System

There are also new illuminated vanity mirrors, and an overhead sunglasses holder as standard.

Mazda3 GS also comes standard with 16” alloy wheels, heated front seats, advanced blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rain-sensing wipers, automatic on/off headlights, and a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel.

Mazda3 GT

The top-of-the-line Mazda3 GT boasts added power from its larger 2.5L SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower. This GT also includes self-leveling LED headlights, LED taillights and LED signature lighting, a body-colour rear spoiler, dual-zone automatic climate control, and LED fog lights as standard.

A new GT Premium Package, priced at $2,900, adds leather upholstery, navigation, 6-way power driver’s seat, 9-speaker Bose premium audio system, 18” gunmetal alloy wheels, advanced keyless entry, and all of these high-tech, semi-autonomous driving systems:

  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control
  • Smart Brake Support
  • Forward Obstruction Warning
  • Lane Departure Warning System
  • High Beam Control System
  • Distance Recognition Support System

G-Vectoring Control Standard Across The Board

All Mazda3 models also come standard with G-Vectoring Control. This is a technology that extracts much more grip from the front and rear tires, improving stability and vehicle responsiveness. G-Vectoring Control also greatly reduces the frequency and size of steering corrections and minimizes the swaying of the head and body experienced by vehicle occupants, producing a much more comfortable ride. Only Mazda has it.
