Standard on the GX is a SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission. The FWD CX-5 with 2.0 L engine and six-speed transmission achieves fuel economy of City/Highway (L/100 km) 9.4/7.4.*

Also available is the SKYACTIV-G 2.5 L DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder that produces 185 horsepower and 187 ft-lb of torque. The engine is available only mated to the SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode and Drive Selection switch. It’s standard on GS and GT models and optional on the GX model.
